URGENT NEUTER FUNDING NEEDED!

£180 for a male · £240 for a female

We Have Reached The End Of Our Veterinary Budget For This Period

What a Neuter Costs

These are our current veterinary prices. A female costs more because spaying is abdominal surgery, which takes longer and needs a more involved recovery.

This pays for castration of a male rabbit, including the pre-operative check, anaesthetic, surgery, pain relief and post-operative care.

This pays for abdominal surgery on a female rabbit, including the pre-operative check, anaesthetic, surgery, pain relief and the longer recovery period that follows.

Contribute any amount to make a real difference and help us build up funds towards our ongoing neutering costs.

Any amount helps. Most people give a share rather than the whole cost, and shares add up to complete operations. If £20 is what you can manage, that is £20 of a real rabbit’s surgery. Consider Regular Giving.

Choosing a rabbit tells us where you would like your gift to go, and we will do our best to honour that. Your donation is made to Beloved Rabbits (SCIO SC049128) for our general charitable purposes. It is not held as a restricted fund for the rabbit you have chosen.

We work this way for practical reasons. A rabbit may be rehomed before their surgery date, may be found unfit for anaesthetic on the day, or may have their neutering covered by another supporter at the same time. Veterinary need in a rescue also changes quickly, and an emergency admission sometimes has to come first.

Where your chosen rabbit can be neutered, that is what your gift will pay for. Where it cannot, we will apply your donation to another rabbit needing the same procedure, or to the veterinary and welfare costs the charity judges most urgent at that time. Those decisions rest with our trustees.

We will not contact you before reallocating a gift. If you would prefer your donation to be used only in a particular way, please email hello@belovedrabbits.org before you give and we will talk it through with you.

How Your Donation Is Used

Your gift is made to Beloved Rabbits, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered as SC049128. Donations are received as general funds for the care of rescued rabbits rather than being reserved for one named animal, because operations are booked according to clinical need and we cannot know which rabbit will be on the list when your gift arrives.

The figures above are the true cost of the surgery at our current veterinary prices. Where a rabbit turns out to need more than a routine neuter, which happens when an operation reveals an existing problem, the additional cost comes from the same funds.

If you pay UK tax, adding Gift Aid increases your donation by 25p for every pound at no extra cost to you. JustGiving will ask you about this at the point of giving.
