Today see’s the launch of the UK’s Rabbit Awareness Week.

Rabbit Awareness Week is an annual event, this year running from 15th – 22nd September, and is organised by a number of partners who have been officially appointed because of their expertise in some or all aspects of rabbit welfare. These partners include Burgess Excel, Panacur Rabbit, RSPCA, PDSA, The Blue Cross, Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund (RWAF) and Wood Green The Animals Charity. With such a wealth of expertise round the table, pet owners can be sure that any rabbit information they see under the official RAW brand is sure to be correct and fully in line with the five rabbit welfare needs..

Throughout the week we will be posting lots of interesting rabbit facts, tips & advice on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. We’re also hoping to share news from our various vet & pet business partners about their RAW activities throughout the week too.

Our week will end on a high with our first ever Binky Hunt: a rabbit awareness scavenger hunt you can join in with in your local area. Simply register today to join in and post photos of your finds during the hunt on our Facebook page! The hunt will start on Saturday 22nd September at 10:00 BST, it’s NOT a race (although some bonus points available for being the first to return each item) and you get until Sunday at 18:00 BST to complete the hunt. It promises to be loads of fun, and could make an excellent family activity too.

The prize for the winning team is a two-night stay bed & breakfast at a Loch Lomond hotel (this can be upgraded to family, triple or quad rooms at a very reasonable supplement).

Registration is only £5 per team, and closes at 23:59 BST on 21st September. All proceeds will go into our charity funds to help us continue to rescue and treat the rabbits in our care, so a bit of a fun for a worthy cause.
