The Hoppy Hub Shutter Door
We hate asking for help with some of the aspects of running the rescue that don’t have a direct benefit to the rabbits care. Vet fees, food and bedding are easy for folks to understand and they want to help.
But when something becomes difficult to manage around our facilities, it can be harder to justify the expense!
Today we are appealing for your financial help to replace our shutter door that secures The Hoppy Hub, our rescue centre building that houses some of our foster support spaces and our Bonding Bootcamp.
The security shutter for the main door to the unit is becoming very difficult for our volunteers to work with. The door is manually opened and closed and is heavy to lift. Its old, and so it easily gets stuck and jams. And recently one of the locking mechanisms broke, meaning we now only have secure lock in place.
We would love to replace the door with a motorised shutter meaning that we can rest assured that our volunteer team can always gain easy access to the unit and don’t run the risk of physical injury.
To install the door it will cost in the region of £1,500 for the replacement door itself, the electrics required to power the door and around to purchase enough keys to ensure all our welfare checkers and care teams can gain access to the building.
With our new door in place, nothing will stop us getting access to the rabbits that need our help and socialisations every day!
