Local Business Helper

You build local support through small, repeatable asks that fit busy businesses.

Time ask

30 to 60 minutes per week.
This can also work as 1 to 2 hours every two weeks.

Where you fit

You work with the Fundraising Manager.
You may coordinate with the Social Media Team for public thanks and partner updates.

Main tasks

Keep a simple list of local businesses to approach and follow up.
Make small, clear asks that are easy to say yes to.
Examples include counter tin, staff collection, raffle prize, sponsor a defined cost, share an appeal link, donation round-up.
Follow up politely, then close the loop with thanks and a short impact update.
Record who was asked, response, and next step.

Skills and qualities

Comfortable speaking to people by email, phone, or in person.
Confident with simple asks and handling polite rejection.
Organised enough to follow up.
