Community Fundraising Buddy

You help supporters run their own fundraising so the charity can raise more without running lots of events.

Time ask

20 to 40 minutes per week.
Often small bursts around supporter activity.

Where you fit

You work with the Fundraising Manager.
You may collaborate with the Social Media Team for supporter shout-outs, if approved.

Main tasks

Reply to supporter fundraising enquiries using a simple script.
Send a fundraiser pack, including a setup guide, images, and key messages.
Help supporters pick a simple, realistic idea that suits their time and audience.
Do two check-ins per fundraiser, once mid-way, once near the end.
Collect outcomes, total raised, what worked, and a short note for thank you messaging.

What good looks like

Supporters can fundraise without needing lots of back-and-forth.
More supporters start fundraisers, and more finish them.
Supporters feel confident and supported.

Skills and qualities

Helpful, upbeat, and practical.
Good at giving clear next steps.
Comfortable using email and messaging.

A named point of contact for tricky questions.

Boundaries and safeguarding

You do not approve complex fundraising methods without checking.
You do not accept cash without agreed process and training.
You escalate any safeguarding concerns or complaints promptly.
